Lighting the Candles at Vantage House

Lighting the Candles

Residents at Vantage House Retirement Community in Columbia celebrated the holidays with their annual tradition of gathering all their Menorahs for a nightly communal lighting of the candles, singing, and sharing of history and personal stories, as they have since 1990 when Vantage House opened.  Residents contributed to the refreshments with items made from family recipes. Lighting the candles (from l.) are Ethel Freidrich, Henry Stern, Sandy Wollman and Natalie Jeffrey.

Vantage House is a not-for-profit retirement community with 222 independent residences in downtown Columbia. It is the only Continuing Care Retirement Community in Howard County. For information, call 410-964-5454, or visit www.vantagehouse.org.
