Glen Mar Golf Classic Raises $33,000 for Grassroots

The 3rd Annual Glen Mar Golf Classic raised almost $33,000 to support the people served by Grassroots, Howard County’s round-the-clock crisis intervention center and homeless shelter.

The event was organized by Glen Mar United Methodist Church members Libby Boswell, Phil Enstice, John D. Hampshire, Barbara Julian, Sandy Kappert and Don Lee, with support from Glen Mar Senior Pastor Matt Poole.  A team of volunteers was on-hand the day of the tourney.

The tournament attracted 108 golfers. A silent auction, organized and displayed by Janet Eagles, Bonnie Dust, John D. Hampshire, Nancy Pirritano, Debbie Wood and Alison Zuzak, included hundreds of items from local businesses and individuals. A barbeque lunch was prepared by George and Sally Dohner and Tom Connolly.
