FIRN is Accepting Nominations for 2014 American Success Awards

Columbia, MD –  FIRN, Inc. (Foreign-born Information & Referral Network), a nonprofit organization in Howard County committed to Bridging Cultures and Building Communities, is accepting nominations for the 2014 American Success Awards, an honor given to foreign-born individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the economy of Howard County and the community.  Nominations forms should be completed by March 31, 2014.

Continuing in its notable tradition, FIRN will once again celebrate the successes of foreign-born individuals at our annual awards dinner.  On June 4, 2014 FIRN will recognize awardees at The Twelfth Annual American Success Awards Dinner.

Since its beginning, immigrants have come to America with dreams of success for their new life. Here in Howard County, immigrants from around the world have seen that dream come true through satisfying and worthwhile jobs, outstanding professional careers, prosperous businesses, and generous civic involvement.

We are asking for your help to identify nominees who embody the spirit of “American Success.” The award criteria are that recipients must 1) be foreign-born individuals who live or work in Howard County, 2) be either the owner of a successful Howard County business or have achieved a high level of success in his/her chosen profession, and 3) have made a significant contribution to either the ethnic or general community through his/her volunteer services in Howard County.
