....
Hundreds of horses, ponies, mules, riders, wagons, carriages and coaches, all costumed and decorated, will fill the streets of Lisbon, MD (Western Howard County) this Saturday, Dec. 7, with the small town Christmas spirit of yesteryear in one of Maryland’s best Holiday Family events, The 3rd Annual Lisbon Ol’ Fashioned Christmas Horse Parade!  Kicking off at 11:00 am with the National Anthem sung by Miranda Judd, the hour-long Parade entrants are judged in eight categories.

In 2012, there were more than 2,000 spectators at the parade that benefited the Howard and Carroll County food banks. This year, the Parade benefits the Howard and Carroll County food banks as well as the Lisbon Fire Department. Spectators are asked to bring a dry or canned good to help fill a horse drawn wagon full of food donations. (Over $8000 was raised for the Food Banks in 2012 and we plan to gallop past that this year!)

After the parade there will be pony rides and petting animals for the kids, local music, and informational displays by local equine related charities and community-based organizations, and of course, Santa Claus joins us!

The Parade is free to spectators.  Parking throughout town on the VFD property and in designated lots. Horse drawn food and hot beverage carts along the Parade route.

To see photos of last years parade and for more info about the event, please visit our website at www.lisbonchristmashorseparade.org.
