The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County will hold its annual Disaster Volunteer Mobilization Center simulation to train and test the process by which community members can register to volunteer and serve effectively following a local disaster. The program will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Miller Library, 9421 Frederick Road, Ellicott City, MD 21042. Registration is requested by emailing pam@volunteerhoward.org or calling 410-715-3179.
The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County, a community clearinghouse for volunteerism, is a service of the Columbia Association. The center receives funding from the Baltimore UASI, the Columbia Association, the Horizon Foundation and Howard County Government through a grant from the Department of Citizen Services.
The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County stimulates and expands volunteerism in the community by connecting people to non-profit and governmental agencies in order to improve the quality of life for all people in Howard County.
