STEM Expo for Girls

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, with support from the Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County and Maryland Space Business Roundtable, is holding “Girl Power: Reach For the Stars,” a free introduction to careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) for middle and high school girls on Sunday, March 11, 3-5 p.m., at the The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

Attendees will be offered opportunities to meet and talk with professional women in their fields of interest, participate in hands-on STEM activities and visit displays on careers in aerospace, computer science, electrical engineering, geology, information technology, engineering, space mission engineering and more. A science show will demonstrate principles of physics.

Parents are invited to accompany their daughters to the STEM careers expo. The expo will be held in the Kossiakoff Center, The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, 11100 Johns Hopkins Rd., Laurel. Directions can be found at www.jhuapl.edu.
