Veteran Profile: Robert Castellano
As part of our series on veterans and jobs, we're posting veterans' resumes on Patch. If you're a potential employer, we invite you to take a look.
Patch has begun telling some of the stories of the struggles of veterans facing fewer employment opportunities, and the successes, too.
We want to do more.
If you are a veteran and are looking for work, we invite you to contact us and answer the questions below, so we can put your job search information on our sites.
Below is a submission from Robert Castellano.
1. Name, rank, age, town, brief work/service history. I am Robert Castellano, Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, 47 years old, and live in West River, MD. I have 27 years of uniformed service with my start in logistics, eight years as an Air Force instructor, teaching subjects under leadership, management, communications and the profession of arms. The rest of my time has been in human resources.
2. What expertise did you develop in your service in branch of service/location? I developed a vast realm of teaching experience, including volunteer teaching experience from kindergarten to major universities. In addition, I gained a great deal of public speaking experience and experience leading effective teams to success.
3. What was your greatest accomplishment in the service? Or what are you most proud of in your service? Being a part of the repatriation of our Air Force prisoners of war (upon their release from Iraq during the Gulf War). My proudest moment(s) have been the births of our two sons.
4. What are you looking for in a civilian job? An opportunity to continue sharing my education and training, promoting outstanding customer service, motivating others to success and contributing to my local community to benefit our way of life.
If you are a veteran looking for work or know of one, we urge you to contact us and/or fill out answers to the above questions.
