Teen Arrested for Armed Robbery at Community Mailbox
The teen allegedly stole a wallet from a man as he was retrieving his mail.
Howard County Police have arrested a 16-year-old Columbia teen who was allegedly involved in an armed robbery of a man at a community mailbox near the 10400 block of Fair Oaks in Columbia.
The incident took place shortly after 6 p.m. on Nov. 14 when the victim was retrieving his mail from the community mailbox.
Dymtro Klopp, 16, of the 6600 block of Dove Cote Drive, along with two other unknown suspects, allegedly approached the victim from behind, placed a gun against his head and demanded money, according to police.
The victim turned over his wallet and Klopp, along with the other suspects, fled the scene, according to police.
On Thursday, police saw Klopp and two other teens who matched the descriptions of the suspects walking down the street. When an officer approached, the teens fled, but officers located Klopp.
During a search of Klopp, police said they found marijuana. In addition, police reported finding a silver gift card that was traced back to the robbery victim.
Police have not identified the other two suspects involved in the robbery.
Klopp was charged as an adult with armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of marijuana.
Klopp is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $85,000 bond.

"During a search of Klopp, police said they found marijuana and a silver gift card that was traced back to the robbery victim."
So the victim was robbed of his marijuana?

Just the silver gift card. I'll fix the sentence now. Thank you.

Anyone who would name their kid "Dymtro" has set them up for a life of failure.

Not everyone can be named Joe or John. Dymtro is a perfectly respectable name with Ukrainian origins. It's probably a family name. This crime is shocking and frightening. But this teen, if found guilty (which he has not), will need help to get back on track. He doesn't need your (bigoted) mocking of his name.

I have $500 that says this thug gets a suspended sentence and will be on the streets in 8 months or less. Another $500 that this will not be his last arrest for a crime of violence.

Bad parenting or let me correct myself, no parenting. Thats why these thugs become thugs. Absent father maybe? I can only begin to guess.

You can guess, but (as you say) you have absolutely no idea. Perhaps withholding judgment is the way to go.
