Columbia
Residential burglary
Someone forced open the front door to a home on the 5600 block of Stevens Forest Road at about 9 a.m. on March 16 according to police. The burglar ransacked the home and reportedly stole televisions, computers, digital cameras, electronic gaming equipment, jewelry, a baseball card collection and cash.
Clarksville
Residential burglary
The son of a homeowner on the 6000 block of Trotter Road woke his dad at 8 a.m. on March 16 to tell him that someone was in the house, according to police. The homeowner chased the burglar, police said, but didn’t catch him. Police say the burglar got inside through an unlocked door. The homeowner didn’t contact police for three hours.
Marriottsville
Residential Burglary
Someone removed the glass pane from the front door of a home on the 12000 block of Old Frederick Road sometime between 4 p.m. March 16 and 12:15 a.m. the next day, according to police. Two stereo speakers were reported stolen.
Laurel
Attempted vehicle theft
A 40-year-old Washington, DC resident was arrested for attempting to steal a silver Cadillac Escalade on March 16 at about 11:15 p.m., according to police. He faces trespassing, theft and malicious destruction charges.
Vehicle thefts, countywide
Someone stole a go-cart from the 6800 block of Dorsey Road on March 15 at 9:10 p.m.
Someone stole a BMW Motorcycle from the 9600 block of Sea Shadow on March 15 at about 11:35 a.m.
