Shots Fired Overnight, Directed at House in Columbia
Howard County Police said someone fired multiple gunshots at a residence in the 5200 block of Candy Root Court.
Police are investigating a report of multiple gunshots fired on Candy Root Court in Columbia just after midnight on Monday morning.
Someone fired at a house in the 5200 block of Candy Root Court and struck a neighbor's vehicle, said police. Police believe the house was targeted and are currently investigating.
No one was injured, according to police.
A resident of the street, who asked that her name not be used, told Patch in an email, "We moved to this neighborhood from Baltimore County because of its reputation of being a safe/quiet neighborhood. This has upset [my family] very much, especially since we have a young son. My husband had just came back into the house 20-30 minutes earlier from walking the dog and taking out the trash which you can't help but think, what if he were outside when it happened? Makes us sick."
She added, "I hope the police can figure out who did this, that would definitely give us some peace of mind."
Police did not release the number of shots fired, what type of gun was used or a possible reason as to why a house was targeted.
