Nice to see local govt doing something to help animals for a change. Howard County Police SWAT teams have killed at least two family dogs during botched raids. They don't seem to put *that* on their Facebook page!

I'm not certain if it is the same Mallard hen which is the guilty patry, but a clutch of hatchlings has appeared @ "the Mall in Columbia" for the past 3 years. And for how many more before that, I do not know. Most people are unaware that ducks will return to breed in the vicinity in which they are born & I viewed a hen being wooed by 2 drakes in the 'pond/fountain' in front of LL Bean just this afternoon.

That's interesting, if you see the hen again take a picture and we'll compare markings with the picture above.
