Howard Community College Celebrates Art of Teri Rizzutti

(Columbia, MD) – On September 27, 2012 The Howard Community College Educational Foundation (HCCEF) and Joe Tabeling hosted an art exhibition of select works by the late Teri Rizzutti. Howard County born, Teri was well known for her eclectic art, as well as her contributions to the community.  The event was well attended and raised funds for an arts scholarship in her name. Shown here are family members who attended. From left to right:  Alicia James, Joe Tabeling, Jessica Tabeling, Al Rizzutti, Laura Rizzutti Bergstrom, Rocky Rizzutti, Marie Rizzutti and Vivienne Vizzini.

The Teri Rizzutti Art Scholarship has been established by her husband, Joe Tabeling, in celebration of Teri’s life and passion for art. Teri was a prolific artist with a lifelong passion for fine art. She began exhibiting her work at local art festivals at age 11. Although she majored in fine arts at Towson University, her techniques were largely self-taught. Perpetually challenging herself as a painter, Teri explored and mastered oils, acrylics and mixed media. During her career, Teri owned galleries in Historic Oella Mills, Columbia, and Historic Savage Mill. Her artwork is offered in art galleries throughout the United States and is a cherished part of many corporate and private collections. A charismatic, creative woman who brightened every space she entered, Teri succumbed to cancer in October 2011.

Teri’s artwork is available for viewing at www.rizzuttifineart.com
