BALTIMORE (Aug. 16, 2012) – The South Baltimore Learning Center (SBLC) has elected Anne Heesters Schroth to serve as president on its board of directors for 2012-2013.

An attorney for Reno and Cavanaugh PLLC in Columbia, Schroth currently chairs the executive committee and is a past board secretary and past gala co-chair.

“Our board and board leadership are a key component of the SBLC team,” said SBLC Executive Director Sonia Socha. “Their volunteer time, commitment, professional expertise and support continue to help the organization grow and evolve as a successful, mission-driven nonprofit.”   

The South Baltimore Learning Center is a community-based nonprofit organization providing functional literacy and life skills training in addition to career preparation services to educationally disadvantaged adults in the Baltimore area. It has been in operation since 1990 and now serves over 1,000 adults annually.
